The Timber Tailor in his workshop
The Timber Tailor designs and builds contemporary furniture for his clients from his rural property in the beautiful Box Ironbark region of the Goldfields in Central Victoria.

The Timber Tailor started life in 1981 as a passionate pastime and craft interest of Mark Wakeham, then a recently graduated scientist working at the Australian Patent Office as an Examiner of Patents.

The Timber Tailor business commenced as a part time operation building furniture for family and friends.

The slow maturing of the Timber Tailor over many years has allowed him to hone and refine a style unashamedly influenced by the teachings of Jim Krenov and his interpretation of the Arts and Crafts style; but, drawing on a wide range of compatible influences to build a confidence and comfort in his approach to design and construction.

The Timber Tailor has collected a stock of premium timbers over the years that are waiting to be transformed into quality bespoke furniture and individual pieces for his clients

The Timber Tailor is now a full time operation with his workshop open for business.
