New Guinea Rosewood , Blackwood and Japanese Elm
This is a cabinet directly inspired by the great late George Ingham.
The frame is Blackwood with the cabinet of solid New Guinea Rosewood with the rear panel a floating Japanese Elm panel in the Blackwood frame.
The doors are solid New Guinea Rosewood with laminated edges to provide the stock to carve out the organic profile which is carried through to the drawers and functions as a handle to open the doors and drawers. Later cabinets have adopted this function incorporating the organic profile in the door stile with the remainder of the door frame components conventional joinery.
Finished with a sealing coat of shellac then oiled with Livos Universal oil and finally waxed.
